Proteianse K recombinant PCR grade lyophilized powder from Pichia pastoris
Description
Proteinase K from Tritirachium album is a subtilisin-related serine protease. It is an endopeptidase with a very high specific activity and a broad spectrum of action. It is very active in the presence of agents that denature proteins (e.g., SDS and urea). It destructs proteins in cell lysates and promotes the isolation of nucleic acids and is therefore commonly used for nucleic acid preparation as it inactivates rapidly nucleases, such as DNases and RNase.
Healthgen Biotech recombinant Proteinase K is a recombinant enzyme from Tritirachium album and is expressed in Pichia pastoris. It has the identical molecular structure and enzymatic characteristics as the native protein. However, the recombinant proteinase K (rProK) is more pure than the natural enzyme, because according to current quality control procedures, the rProK does not contain DNase or RNase, so it is very suitable for separating PCR and RT-PCR templates. The rProK possesses a high specific activity which remains stable over a wide range of temperatures and pH values with substantially increased activity at higher temperature. Purified by chromatography process, the rProK has a high purity more than 95%.
Molecular Weight: 29 kDa.
Source: Yeast
Activity: ≥30U/mg (One unit of recombinant Proteinase K hydrolyzes urea-denaturated hemoglobin producing color equivalent of 1 μmol tyrosine per 1 min at 37°C and pH = 7.5 (Folin & Ciocalteu’s method)
Purity: more than 95%, SDS-PAGE
Format: Lyophilized powder and liquid
E.C. No.: 3.4.21.64
DNase: Non-detection
RNase: Non-detection
(Left: DNA template; Right: RNA template)
Using recombinant proteinase K in DNA and RNA template extraction, the RT-PCR result showed that the addition of protease K helps to improve the quality of DNA and RNA.
