High quality research reagent, recombinant proteinase K lyophilized powder
Description
Proteinase K is a broad-spectrum serine protease originally isolated from fungus Engyodontium album (Tritirachium album). Proteinase K was named “proteinase K” for its ability to digest keratin. Structural and molecular biology studies suggest that the enzyme belongs to the subtilisin family characterized with a catalytic triad (Asp39-His69-Ser224) in the active site. It is stable (and functional) up to 65 degrees C and will function in temperatures down to 25 degrees C (room temperature).
Healthegn Biotech express and purify the recombinant proteinase K (rProK) from yeast (Pichia Pastoris) based on the optimized gene of Engyodontium album by site-directed mutation. The rProK possesses a high specific activity which remains stable over a wide range of temperatures and pH values with substantially increased activity at higher temperature. Purified by chromatography process, the rProK has a high purity more than 95%. The rProK can be used in a variety of molecular biology, cell biology and other related experiments, such as genomic DNA extraction, enzyme digestion and removal, cell permeability and so on.
