Recombinant Proteinase K bulk quantity supply PCR grade
Description
Proteinase K, a broad-spectrum serine protease, firstly was extracted and purified from Engyodontium album. Because it can degrade Keratin, so named proteinase K. The crystallization and molecular structure of Proteinase K indicate it belongs to subtilisin family, whose active site has a characteristic catalytic triple amino acid Asp39-His69-Ser224. Proteinase K has no significant substrate specificity, and main cleavage site is the peptide bond at the carboxyl end of the hydrophobic amino acid such as aliphatic or aromatic.
Healthgen Biotech recombinant Proteinase K is the same as the natural protease originally isolated from Tritirachium album, which has same amino acid sequence (molecular weight) and molecular structure. However, the recombinant proteinase K (rProK) is more pure than the natural enzyme, because according to current quality control procedures, the rProK does not contain DNA or RNA, so it is very suitable for separating PCR and RT-PCR templates.
Application
Healthgen Biotech recombinant Proteinase K is extensively purified to give highly active formulation free of any detectable nuclease activities. It is fully active up to 56°C and under denaturing conditions (e.g. in the presence of urea and/or SDS), what makes it ideal for DNA extraction application.
