The molecular weight of EGF is 6.3 kD. EGF contains 53 amino acids and 3 disulfide bonds in molecule. When EGF binds to the receptor EGFR on the cell surface, it causes a series of biochemical reactions in the cell: improve intracellular calcium concentration, promote the progress of glycolysis, increase protein synthesis, and enhance the specificity of EGFR gene expression to facilitate DNA synthesis and cell proliferation. Healthegn Biotech rhEGF was expressed from yeast, and extracted and purified by protein purification process. Mannitol is used as freeze-drying protective additive.
