As the most abundant protein in human plasma, HSA is composed of 585 amino acids. It has a molecular weight of 66.5KD and an isoelectric point of 4.8. rHSA is widely used in biochemical experiments, such as being used as a blocking ragent in western, also plays a role in mailly maintaining the osmotic pressure, PH buffer and as carriers and nutritions. rHSA can also be used as a hapten carrier, a protective reagent, and in protein complementation control in cell culture.

Physiological and Biochemical Properties of rHSA and pHSA

Recombinant human serum albumin (OsrHSA) was lyophilized with saline and the physical appearance is off-white to light beige powder. The advantages of rHSA powder are as followed: First, the protein will not be denatured or loss its biological activity; Secondly, lyophilized products will be in the form of loose powder after drying and the color does not change. The lyophilized products can recover the original physical, chemical characteristics and biological activity of the aqueous solution after quickly dissolve in water.
